How do I structure an analytical paragraph?

If you're finding it tricky to structure an analytical paragraph its best to start with the PEEL format. This ensures that your hitting all of the points that make a good analytical paragraph. P- Point. What are you trying to say about the text/poem/etc in this paragraph? Ensure that it links to the question directly. Think how you can put this across in one or two sentences. E - Evidence. What evidence are you going to use to support your point. This (most often) is a quotation. E- Explain. Pick out a key word from your quotation. What does this say about your point? Are there any further meanings here?L- Link. Link your point back to the question. Try to use a keyword from the question so that the examiner immediately understands that your linking your points together.
