Five numbers have a mean of 9.4 . Four of the numbers are 3, 5, 10 and 12. Work out the range of the five numbers. ( 4 marks )

9.4 =( 3 + 5 + 10 + 12 + x ) / 5=> 9.4 x 5 = 30 + x=> 47-30 = x=> 17 = x
