What is theft?

Theft can be found in S.1 Theft Act 1968. It is when someone 'dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive'. It can be split into the actus reus (appropriate, property, belonging to another) and the mens rea (dishonestly, with the intention to permanently deprive).
