How do I complete a close analysis of a text?

First we will discuss the key terms used in a close analysis such as, metaphor, personification, similie, alliteration, etc.

Then we will practice finding these in texts such as novels and poems. Once identified we will discuss the meanings and implications that the author has tried to create through using these techniques.
