Because Tarpeia led the Sabines to the town of the Romans, the Sabines soon destroyed the walls and entered the town. After a while, Tarpeia went to the Sabines and asked for gold. The Sabines, however, were not praising the treachery of the girl. They threw their shields on Tarpeia and killed her.
