What does Pythagoras's theorem state?

It states that for a right-angle triangle, the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the other sides. So if a denotes the hypotenuse, a^2 = b^2 + c^2.

as the acceleration is constant, to travel 1km=1000m, we use 1000 m =(1/2) (5 m/s^2) t^2, so t=sqrt(2 1000/5)=20 seconds
