Our tutors aren't just subject experts

They’re also role models, recruited from the UK's top universities.

They can advise you on the format of your test, suggest the best ways to practice for them and help you with any topics you find tricky. Your tutor will leave you feeling confident, well prepared, and ready to take on your admissions tests.

Duncan L. GCSE Maths tutor, GCSE Physics tutor, A Level Maths tutor, ...

As a parent new to this site, I was overjoyed, relieved and really impressed with Duncan's input today. He was on time, prepared and left my daughter with clear notes. We received notes back in the afternoon with extra work to do before the next tutorial. He managed to put her at ease very quickly and had her focused on task promptly

Thank you so much Sohini for being able to tutor Charley for the past year with lots of patience and for giving her the confidence and knowledge she needed for her GCSE exam. Charley no longer finds maths so daunting and even quite likes the subject now thanks to you. I would highly recommend Sohini as a well organised and very knowledgeable Maths tutor.

What our amazing tutors have to say

Brimming with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and always willing to help

What sort of things do you cover with your students?

Usually we cover both subject knowledge and exam technique, although that can change depending on each individual student. Then we go through diagrams, and they ask questions, and we go from there.

How is MyTutor different from school?

Lots of students say that the classes are too big in school, or that they don't have time to ask teachers after lessons. In my tutorials, we take time to explore things in a little in a bit more detail.

Studies Psychology at Bristol

What happens in a typical tutorial?

I always look up the board my students are taking so the lessons are really relevant. Then we go through past papers or set texts, whatever the student finds helpful.

Studies English at Oxford

How do you explain tricky concepts in your tutorials?

I use the shared whiteboard. We make diagrams together and label them, and often the student prints it off because they know it's right and they completely understand it.

Do you have any success stories?

After tutoring one girl went and told all her friends the new explanation I gave her. And she was so excited about what she wrote in the exam she emailed me immediately afterwards.

Can you help with last-minute revision?

There was one girl who had her exam on Monday. She wanted tuition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beforehand. It was very intense, but she said the exam went well.
