Our tutors are role models, subject experts and peers

Only the best A/A* Russell Group students make it through our tutor interview process.

Daunted by the thought of the UKCAT, STEP or TSA? Many of the UK's most prestigious university courses require applicants to sit (and score highly in) an admissions test to set them apart from the competition. Our admissions test tutors can help you prepare for your test: they all go to Russell Group Universities and have successfully negotiated the admissions process themselves.

They can advise you on the format of your test, suggest the best ways to practice for them and help you with any topics you find tricky. Your tutor will leave you feeling confident, well prepared, and ready to take on your admissions tests.

Looking for something different? Our tutors can advise on these topics:

Really helpful tutorial, helped me get round visualising the atom properly (a level standard) and all the reasons for ionisation energies changing. (In lessons at school I couldn't quite understand - things didn't seem to add up - but this tutorial has helped me understand this topic fully!) Georgina is also friendly and I'm comfortable to make mistakes and speak confidently without feeling embarrased. (Which really helps with the learning experience)

Jamie C. GCSE Maths tutor, A Level Politics tutor, A Level Government...

Jamie is everything we could hope for in a tutor. He is keen and knowledgable, obviously very intelligent, but he presents material in a clear and engaging way. Jamie goes way beyond the call of duty, sending my son extra notes to help his research and not hesitating to take his time explaining points. I can highly recommend Jamie as a first class tutor. What our amazing tutors have to say

Brimming with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and always willing to help

What sort of things do you cover with your students?

Usually we cover both subject knowledge and exam technique, although that can change depending on each individual student. Then we go through diagrams, and they ask questions, and we go from there.

How is MyTutor different from school?

Lots of students say that the classes are too big in school, or that they don't have time to ask teachers after lessons. In my tutorials, we take time to explore things in a little in a bit more detail.

Answered by Sophie V

Studies Psychology at Bristol

What happens in a typical tutorial?

I always look up the board my students are taking so the lessons are really relevant. Then we go through past papers or set texts, whatever the student finds helpful.

Studies English at Oxford

How do you explain tricky concepts in your tutorials?

I use the shared whiteboard. We make diagrams together and label them, and often the student prints it off because they know it's right and they completely understand it.

Do you have any success stories?

After tutoring one girl went and told all her friends the new explanation I gave her. And she was so excited about what she wrote in the exam she emailed me immediately afterwards.

Can you help with last-minute revision?

There was one girl who had her exam on Monday. She wanted tuition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beforehand. It was very intense, but she said the exam went well.
