What sets me apart is my tailored and student-focused approach. Having achieved top grades in GCSE and A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics, I understand the challenges students face and know how to simplify difficult topics into engaging, easy-to-follow lessons. My experience as a self-employed tutor for UCAT preparation and medical school interviews has taught me how to build students’ confidence while helping them improve academically.
I love teaching because it’s incredibly rewarding to watch students grow in both their knowledge and self-assurance. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and overcoming challenges. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also develop skills and strategies that will benefit them for life.
In my tutoring sessions, I focus on creating a personalised learning experience that suits each student’s needs and goals. I begin by assessing their current understanding and identifying areas of improvement, using both initial assessments and discussions to build a plan for each lesson.

My approach is interactive and student-centered, focusing on breaking down complex topics into manageable, understandable chunks. I use a range of resources, such as practice questions, visual aids, and real-world examples, to reinforce key concepts and ensure a solid foundation in both theory and application.
For A-Level and GCSE subjects, I focus on exam technique, practicing past papers, and identifying common pitfalls. I encourage active participation, asking students to explain concepts back to me to ensure understanding.
To measure progress, I regularly review past material, provide feedback on practice tests, and track improvements over time. I also set clear, achievable goals for each session, giving students milestones to work towards.
I believe in creating a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I encourage them to take ownership of their learning by setting specific, realistic goals and using feedback constructively. This empowers students to develop confidence, build self-motivation, and achieve their academic objectives.
We only take tutor applications from candidates who are studying at the UK’s leading universities. Candidates who fulfil our grade criteria then pass to the interview stage, where a member of the MyTutor team will personally assess them for subject knowledge, communication skills and general tutoring approach.
