Tutoring for me is about helping people reach their potential and trying to bridge educational gaps that can affect students later on. Expect lessons to be fun, stimulating, enriching and enjoyable! Each session is different depending on the student. I like to begin every session with a starter activity consolidating previous lessons experience and introducing the topic for the current lesson. With very motivated students I make my lessons adaptable so they remain stimulating and challenging (I.e having harder activities/questions available on hand in case they grasp a topic very quickly). Conversely, at times more time may needed to be spent on a topic to aid complete understanding and I tweak plans accordingly. I will always plan a lesson in advance for each student to make sure they’re getting the best I can give them. Lessons usually end with a summary, questions using skills learned in the lesson and homework may or may not be provided depending on the student and their needs. Each student will always be congratulated for their progress and I use an EBI WWW model to produce praise and constructive feedback.
