Hi! I’m an Incoming Doctor with over 6 years of tutoring experience, supporting students from KS2 to A-level across all major exam boards. With exam season just around the corner, I’m here to help you feel confident, prepared, and ready to succeed. My sessions are structured, focused, and completely tailored to you. Here’s what you can typically expect from each lesson: 5-minute recap to go over key points from the previous session and address any lingering questions. Focused teaching on a new topic, explained in a clear and engaging way. 15-minute exam-style practice to apply what you’ve learned and build confidence While every student has their own unique learning style, there’s one thing I always emphasise: practice makes progress. Mastering past paper questions, understanding mark schemes, and learning how to tailor your answers to what the examiner wants—that’s what makes the difference. These are the techniques that helped me achieve straight A*s at both A-level and GCSE, and I’m here to help you do the same. I tutor Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Maths (KS3, GCSE, A-level) as well as Medicine applications–including UCAT/BMAT prep and mock interviews. With exam season just around the corner, I’m currently running crash course sessions focused on quick revision, past paper mastery, and key exam strategies. These are ideal if you’re looking for a last-minute boost or want to focus intensively on specific topics. Let’s make this exam season your best one yet!

Ibraheem M.
Aeronautical and astronautical engineering with aerodynamics
Southampton
Hi! My name is Ibraheem and I am an Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering student at the University of Southampton. I’m an experienced tutor in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Programming (Python and C#) at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level. I enjoy helping students build confidence, get past tricky topics, and start seeing real improvement in their work. Each lesson is shaped around how the student learns best. I usually begin with a few questions to see where they’re at, then either break the topic down with a clear explanation or dive into exam-style questions if they’re already confident. I also keep track of the topics we’ve covered so we can revisit anything if needed and build a strong, consistent foundation over time. I’m working towards an MEng in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, with a strong interest in spacecraft development and Formula One engineering. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing badminton, training in MMA, and working on game development projects. These interests help me stay focused, bring good energy into my sessions, and connect with students in a way that makes learning more relaxed and engaging.

Jemima B.
Medicine
Oxford
Hi there! I’m a medical student at Oxford University, and I’ve been tutoring GCSE/ A-Level science and maths for over 3 years. I teach all the core subjects – Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths (including Further Maths). One of the things I focus on in my teaching is starting from scratch. I believe in building up the concepts step-by-step, so there’s no misunderstanding about assumed knowledge. My approach ensures that students really understand the material before moving on to more complex topics. I keep lessons interactive by asking lots of questions to keep students engaged and thinking critically. This helps them take ownership of their learning and stay focused, while also giving me the chance to gauge their understanding and adjust accordingly. I also have experience working with students with a range of learning needs, including those on the autism spectrum, and I’m committed to creating a supportive, comfortable environment where students can ask questions without hesitation. If you're looking for a friendly, thorough tutor who’ll help your child build confidence and truly understand their subjects, I’d love to help!

English Language testing
Lancaster
I have always had a passion for teaching, learning and a commitment to student success, I create an engaging and interactive learning environment where students feel empowered to take charge of their own progress. My tutoring approach is rooted in collaboration—working as a team to identify challenges, exchange ideas, and develop effective strategies that enhance learning and retention. I believe that true learning happens through discussion, exploration, and active participation. Rather than simply providing answers, I guide students to think critically, ask the right questions, and build confidence in their abilities. By fostering autonomy, I encourage students to take ownership of their learning

Kaya B.
Product Design Technology (Bsc)
Loughborough
Hello! My name is Kaya and here's a bit about me: I am currently studying at Loughborough University, doing Product Design Technology (Bsc) and after having completed my A-levels, I can't wait to jump back in with tutoring! Happy with tutoring subjects: Maths GCSE Further Maths (Level 2) Geography GCSE Graphic Design GCSE/A-level Achieved grades GCSE: Maths (H) - 9 Further Maths - 9 Geography - 8 A-level: Maths - A Graphic Design - A* Geography - A Experience: Maths mentoring during my time at Beauchamp College for a GCSE (yr10) class gave me a large insight into how to engage with students and the best possible ways to learn. During my A-levels I also took time to support lower achieving students with explanations and answers to queries they brought to me. Structure: I plan to follow school/college structure in order to consolidate knowledge gained in the classroom. This would be going over new content before/ after viewing it at school and reinforcing knowledge by going over exam style questions. Optionally, my classes can be used to ask questions about problems that you may find difficult or need explaining which is another amazing way of reaching your target grade. I understand that being in a classroom environment can be daunting, especially when you don't understand the content - hopefully I can support you on your academic journey!

English and Comparative Literary Studies
Warwick
500+ lessons
Hi! My name is Jess, I have a First-Class undergraduate degree in English Literature (Warwick), Distinction-Grade MA in English and Comparative Literature (Warwick), and I am currently undertaking my PhD in English Literature and Critical Theory. I also received A*'s in my English and History A-Levels. I hit the highest grade in the county for my English A-Level Exam and was awarded a Norfolk Scholar Award in 2017. All that is to say, I know my stuff when it comes to English Literature, Language, critical reading, and academic writing. I have four years of tutoring experience across all the major exam boards, OCR, Edexcel, and AQA. English Literature and Language can be a challenge for a number of reasons. I like to begin by answering the 'why' — why do students need to study Shakespeare? What's really so important about post-war poetry? To paraphrase Robin Williams in Dead Poet's Society: plays, poems, novels and stories are what we stay alive for. They are fundamental to understanding the human condition. Not everyone will love the classics, but being able to access and understand art is one of the most important skills we can learn as people. That's the value I aim to communicate in my lessons.

What makes a good tutor?
Subject knowledge is a must, but being a good tutor is really about explaining difficult concepts in a way that's clear, engaging and personalised for each student. You can have three degrees in Physics, but that doesn't mean you'll be good at explaining it at GCSE level! Tutors who can empathise with their students and help them build confidence help teens unleash their potential, and we see amazing results in just a few lessons.
Our tutors are from top UK unis, and because they're just a few years older, they can explain things in a way that teens find relatable. We interview all of our tutors, and only the friendliest and most knowledgeable make it on to our platform. We're very picky about it - just 1 in 8 applicants make the cut.
Pick from over 20 subjects and levels with GCSE, A Level and beyond. Click below to find a tutor at the level you need:
Which tutor is right for you?
Before you look for a tutor, it's helpful to have a really clear idea of exactly where your child needs help - whether with a specific English Literature text, one area of Maths or their exam technique - and filter your choices accordingly. If you're not sure where they need to focus, having a chat with them or their teacher can help you work out the best place to start. In a free meeting, you can then ask the tutor any questions you like and see how well they get on with your child before deciding to book.
Why is online tutoring important?
Online tutoring gives kids the chance to learn at their own pace and in a way that matches their learning style. Teens are often too shy to put their hand up in class - especially if they're struggling. The reassurance of one-to-one tutoring means they can ask all the questions they want, and go over topics as much as they need until they get it.
What are the benefits of online tutoring?
One-to-one tutoring lets kids unleash their potential. Worried about learning gaps? We'll fill them in. No tutors in your area? We've got you covered. No academic confidence? No problem. Whatever your child needs help with, their tutor will guide them through tricky topics and boost their self-belief. With the personalised one-to-one support from their tutor, your child can get the grades they deserve.
How much does a tutor cost?
Our tutors set their own prices based on their experience and qualifications, starting from £25/hour at GCSE level. Most of our tutors charge between £25 and £39 an hour. You can see all the tutors who match your budget with the handy price filter on our Find a tutor page.
How to find a tutor?
Finding a tutor is easy. Whatever you need, you can search and filter by subject, level, price, experience and more.
- View our tutors, and narrow your search by subject, academic level or price. Or if you'd like expert help, book a call with our free tutor matching service.
- Compare their profiles to learn about their background, experience and availability. Don't forget to take a peek at their reviews from parents and students!
- Message a tutor (or two, or three) and book your free meeting at a time that suits you.
- Book a lesson and pay as you go. There are no hidden costs and you can skip or cancel any time.
How do online lessons work?
We have our own online lesson space with video chat, messaging and an interactive whiteboard - this makes it easy for students and tutors to talk to each other, discuss tricky concepts and do practice questions together. With the live video chat, they can have a natural back-and-forth conversation - just like on FaceTime, Whatsapp and other apps teens use all the time.
