Daniel F. A Level Maths tutor, A Level Further Mathematics tutor, GC...

Daniel helped our daughter with A level maths in the few weeks leading up to her final exam. He was flexible, interested and helped to explain concepts in a way that was different to school. We would recommend him to other parents.

Oliver B. GCSE Chemistry tutor, GCSE Biology tutor, GCSE Geology tuto...

Excellent tutorials. In his latest ISA my son got an A (after only getting a mid C prior to Oliver's help). Continuing all the way through to Additional Science and hopefully Advanced.

Oliver B. A Level Further Mathematics tutor, A Level Maths tutor, GC...

Oliver has been really helpful. Knowledgeable, well researched and prepared for the sessions. He is patient and understanding and takes time to explain the solution to me if I have struggled with it.

Laura W. GCSE Maths tutor, A Level Maths tutor, GCSE English Language...

Laura made me feel much more comfortable with my upcoming exam and helped me a lot giving explanations of rules and why numbers were getting rearranged etc. After the taster session she had gone out of her way to get a lot of examples for me which was brilliant!

What our amazing tutors have to say

Brimming with up-to-date curriculum knowledge and always willing to help

What sort of things do you cover with your students?

Usually we cover both subject knowledge and exam technique, although that can change depending on each individual student. Then we go through diagrams, and they ask questions, and we go from there.

How is MyTutor different from school?

Lots of students say that the classes are too big in school, or that they don't have time to ask teachers after lessons. In my tutorials, we take time to explore things in a little in a bit more detail.

What happens in a typical tutorial?

I always look up the board my students are taking so the lessons are really relevant. Then we go through past papers or set texts, whatever the student finds helpful.

How do you explain tricky concepts in your tutorials?

I use the shared whiteboard. We make diagrams together and label them, and often the student prints it off because they know it's right and they completely understand it.

Do you have any success stories?

After tutoring one girl went and told all her friends the new explanation I gave her. And she was so excited about what she wrote in the exam she emailed me immediately afterwards.

Can you help with last-minute revision?

There was one girl who had her exam on Monday. She wanted tuition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday beforehand. It was very intense, but she said the exam went well.
