How can you form the future tense in French?

In French, you can use two future tenses. The first one which requires aller + infinitive is used to express a future event which is going to happen in the near future or at a known time. For example, 'ja vais aller au cinema aujourd'hui' literally means 'I'm going to go to the cinema..' In order to form this tense, you would simply conjugate the verb according to the subject, i.e-'je' requires 'vais' and then add the verb of the action you are about to do in the infinitive, this being 'aller' in this case.The second future tense in French, which translates as 'I will + verb' in English, simply requires a conjugation. For regular French verbs such as 'arriver' you would simply take its infinitive and then add the following endings: ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont. To say 'they will arrive' for instance, you simply need to conjugate 'arriver' with 'ont' to produce 'ils arriveront.' For irregular verbs such as 'avoir' you will simply need to learn their stem for the future tense and then add the ending that agrees with the subject. 'Aur' is the stem, so to say 'I will have' you would conjugate it as 'j'aurai.'
