How should I structure an A level essay?

Begin by setting out the argument in response to the question. Giving some background detail here is really important, such as a theory (CBD/ river flow/ Malthusian principles on overpopulation) that you can base the rest of your answer around and refer back to. Give each point a paragraph of its own and make sure to add diagrams if they illustrate your point, as they are an easy way to convey a lot of information in a small space. Conclude by summarising your argument, and end by giving your own view and final answer to the question supported by the points you have made in the essay. It may be that you agree, disagree or are somewhere in the middle, but it is important to make sure that this view matches up with what you have argued so far.
