What preparation should I carry out for my UKCAT?

I recommend taking your UKCAT towards the end of your summer holidays in lower sixth/year 12, as this gives you ample time to prepare. The score you acheive will also help you finalise the medical schools you plan on applying to (before the october deadline), as some place more weight on the test than others. In terms of preparation I would recommened purchasing the 600Q UKCAT book and the Kaplan study guide (I used these myself) and start doing a few questions a day about five weeks before your test, slowly gearing up to full mock tests around two to three weeks before. However, I would not recommend taking a UKCAT study course as these are often not the best environments to learn in; contain tips and tricks found in many study guides and are often quite pricey.
