How should I approach a verbal reasoning passage and questions

Verbal reasoning is the toughest part of the UKCAT, but once you have a technique suited to you, you can score very high in the time sensitive pressure test. In this section you probably know you're presented with a passage and with it some questions, these can be statement questions, asking you to select which answer option is most correct, or it can be a true, false, can't tell option question.

With these questions the most important thing to remember is to try to be flexible in the way you think. Sometimes the passage topic will require you to skim through then answer the questions, and other times you can just pick key words from the question and find the answer in the passage. So once the question appears on the screen skim the questions quickly if you feel they are simple and the passage is short, use the key words to find your answer. If the questions are complex, have a quick skim of the passage so you know more about the topic then tackle the question.
