Which liquid would you expect to have a higher boiling point, Bromine (Br2) or Iodine I2)? Explain your answer.

Correct answer: Iodine .  The asymetirc distribution of electrons leading to an instantaneous dipole would be greater for Iodine than Bormine as it has a higher number of electrons surrounding it's nucleus. This would lead to an increased strength of van der Waals' interaction between opositely charged dipoles and would therefore require more energy and hence higher temperature to overcome, leading to a higher boiling point.
