Writing task: Write a letter to you friend explaining what you did this week-end

Prerequisites:

  • you must write with reference to the past: you can choose either the passé composé, imparfait de l'indicatif or passé simple (but this is very difficult even for French people!)

  • because you are writing to a friend you may use an informal pronoun: use tu instead of vous

  • you should adopt the style of a letter: start with chèr/chère or equivalent and end with à bientôt (see you soon) for instance.

Notice here the difference between Toulouse and parisienne.

End with one of the following: J'éspère que tout va bien  Tu me manques Gros bisous etc.

Remember: the greater variety of tenses you use the more impressed your examiner will be!
