For the French oral, the main thing is to try and conjugate the verbs. It is better to provide simple and accurate sentences, than something that is complicated but doesn't make grammatical sense.
Remember the irregular verbs - I learnt with MRS TRAVENDAMP to learn which ones went with 'etre' instead of 'avoir' in the parfect tense. Talk about things you are genuinely interested in - there's no point making up a whole back story about volunteering with the elderly if you don't actually do it! If you speak about something you enjoy, this will come across to the examiner.
The key thing is to practise - get your friends and family to test you, revise in the shower, record yourself and listen to it back. Preparation is key to doing very well in this area of the exam.
