A hot air balloon is travelling at a speed of 5.0m/s at an angle of 60.0 degrees up from the horizontal. Find the vertical and horizontal components.

The diagram would have the following:

An arrow pointing upwards labeled v(y)

An arrow pointing to the right labeled v(x)

An arrow pointing in between those lines with a degree between this one and the right one labeled 60 degress.

The horizontal component v(x) would be:

v(x) = vcos(theta)=5.0cos(60)=2.5m/s

The vertical component v(y) would be:

v(y) = vsin(theta)=5.0sin(60)=4.3301m/s=4.3m/s

The horizontal component would be 2.5m/s and the vertical component would be 4.3m/s.
