Why are there different impacts of flooding in MEDCs and LEDCs?

There is a difference in the impact of flooding between MEDCs and LEDCs because of socio econmomic factors. MEDCs have better flood warning systems to alert the population to the possibility of a flood occuring, which an LEDC won't have. Also MEDCs have better flood defences as they have the money to spend on sea walls, levees, and even sand bags for example, whereas again an LEDC can't afford this. In addition to ths an LEDC will not have the resources or supplies to distribute medicine to those in need, or treat such a large inflx of people to there hospitals, and they may be unlikely to stage a large search and rescue opperation, whereas these are all things MEDCs can do.
