What is the most effective way to balance redox equations which include hydrogen and oxygen?

The first thing you must do is balance all atoms on either side of the equation besides hydrogen and oxygen. Secondly add water to the side which is oxygen defecient to balance out the atoms of oxygen on either side of the equation. Thirdly add H plus atoms to the hydrogen deficient side of the equation to balance the hydrogen atoms. Fourthly add electron to the the more positive side of the equation to balance the charges. Finally multiply each equation by the required number to ensure equal number of electron being transfered in each half equation. Combine the equations cancelling common terms.

What is the name of the compound with the formula CH3CH2CH(OH)CH3, and what is the name of its functional group?

Why in a strong acid and strong bases reaction, a drop of acid added would not change its PH dramatically but has a big drop near the equivalent point?

Define and then compare the periodic table trends (atomic radius, electronegativity, ionization energy, electron affinity) for Lithium (Li) and Sodium (Na).

Hydrogen bromide forms a strong acid when dissolved in water whereas hydrogen fluoride forms a weak acid. Distinguish between the terms strong acid and weak acid. State equations to describe the dissociation of each acid in aqueous solution. [3]
