Sunita has 75 pens and she ties them into bundles of 8. How many bundles can she make and how many pens does she have left over?

This question is asking you about your eight times tables so we can solve this by writing those out.

8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88

Sunita has 75 pens so we need to see how many times 8 we need to do to get closest to 75.

8      1 bundle

16    2 bundles

24    3 bundles

32    4 bundles

40    5 bundles

48    6 bundles

56    7 bundles

64    8 bundles

72    9 bundles

80    woops, 80 is too many pens!

So sunita has enough pens to make 9 bundles which is 72 pens. This means she has 3 pens left!
