How much preparation do I need to do for medical school in terms of work?

Medical school is not for everyone. If you are asking this question, you are probably one of the best in your grade to even consider the medical branch. As you enter medical school, you will notice that most of the students have done a lot of extra reading in the subject and have developed a major interest in the field. Everyone will have different amount of experience in different specialties. Do not let that put you off!Do some reading outside school books. Develop some interest in whatever field you may find intriguing. Find some volunteering work in your local area as soon as possible. But do not give up just because one person in your grade is better than you!
