I’m really struggling with comprehension texts. How can I make it easier for myself?

It can be quite daunting, coming across a whole page full of words which might not understand all of. However, it’s always important to focus on what you do know. So if you’re really struggling with a text, take it one sentence at a time. Within that sentence, first look for all the words which you do understand, which is probably the majority! Then if there are words you don’t know, see if you can work out what they mean; are they similar to English words, or can you infer from the context? And if you really don’t know, make a guess! Often with languages, confidence is the key and over time you’ll surprise yourself by how much you understand just by practice!

Please could you explain to me when past participles must agree when using the passé composé? (NB in my experience, this was an issue for A-Level students of French too)
