How would you go about structuring a piece of coursework?

First of all, you have to come up with an argument - this is the most important part of your essay! Remember to keep repeating your argument throughout the essay. It's really important that you keep referencing the text throughout, this can be in the form of quotes or language analysis. This could include the structure of the text (for instance poetic techniques such as juxtaposition), textual analysis (using language such as sibilance, pathetic fallacy or rhyming) or references to the context of the time. It's often very important to situate the text within its historical context - this could be literary context, such as referring to other texts of the time and contemporary authors, or the history of the time the text was being written in.If you are analysing more than one text, make sure to do this throughout. The best way of doing this is finding similarities and differences, for instance in the historical context or the language used by the author. Comparison is ESSENTIAL - this is one of the key skills you will be assessed on.
