When is it appropriate to use the verb "savoir" versus "connaitre"?

While both verbs can be translated in English as "to know", the two words are used differently in French. The usage of "savoir" refers to knowing facts, information or how to do something.E.g. "Je sais que le ciel est bleu" (I know that the sky is blue)"Je sais conduire une voiture" (I know how to drive a car)Meanwhile, the usage of "connaitre" refers to knowing a person.E.g. "Je la connais tres bien" (I know her very well)Hope this helps! :)
