How do you write "Evaluate the usefulness of the source" questions?

This is a 6 mark question, which I answer using an anagram which helps you to remember each of the points you need to include to achieve full marks. The anagram I use is: TACL which stands for Time, Author, Content and Limitations. Time: When was the source written? Does this make it a primary source (written at the time of the events) or a secondary source (written after the time of the events)? Does this make it more or less useful? Author: Who was the source written by? Why are they important? Does this make it more or less useful? (Can the source be bias or propaganda). Why did they write the source? Why is it important? Content: what is the source about? Try and give two points that the source tells us and state why each one is or is not useful. Limitations: What are the limitations of the source? (What does it not tell us? Here is your chance to show off knowledge that you remember from class.)
