How do you form the future tense?                                                             For  regular –er and –ir verbs, the radical is the infinitive

For most –re verbs, you take off the -e

Je chanterai

Tu chanteras

Il/elle/on chantera

Nous chanterons

Vous chanterez

Ils/elles chanteront

Verbs in –oyer and –uyer : ‘y’ changes to ‘i:

Je nettoierai / tu tutoieras etc.

Verbs in –ayer either keep the ‘y’ or change to ‘i’:                                                 Il essaiera etc.

Verbs with a penultimate ‘e’

Add a grave accent: (amener, mener, se lever, etc.)

J’amènerai etc.

Some verbs are irregular, and will have to be learned by heart. Here is a selection of the most common irregular verbs.

Etre:  ser-
Avoir:  aur-
Aller:  ir-
Faire:  fer-

How do you use the future tense?
  An order, a request.
Tu iras le voir demain et tu t’excuseras de ta conduite!

  Or in the negative
Tu ne sortiras pas ce soir!

   Probability
   Ce sera Olivier sans doute.

    A perspective or a prediction
    Ça ne marchera pas.
    Vous verrez!
