When should I use the subjunctive?

The subjunctive in French is a special verb form (called a mood) which is used to express doubt or uncertainty, for example following phrases such as 'je ne pense pas que', 'je doute que', 'je ne crois pas que' and similar. It is also used after certain conjunctions, such as 'pour que', 'de peur que', 'sans que', 'bien que' and 'quoique'.To form the subjunctive of a regular verb, use the ils/elles form of the present tense minus its -ent ending and add the following endings:je -e
tu -es
il/elle -e
nous -ions
vous -iez
ils/elles -ent
