How does the ionisation energy differ across period 2 from Li to Ne?

The ionisation energy across a period increases as the effective nuclear charge increases but the shielding stays the same.

Effective nuclear charge= the electrostatic 'pull' that an electron 'feels' from a proton in the nucleus, this can be decreased by the shielding from other electrons (as the two negative charges repel one another).
