How do I write an effective Introduction and Conclusion?

The introduction and conclusion of an essay ensure that your writing flows. To have a cohesive beginning and ending will leave a reader assured that what you have asserted in your essay is fully justified and effectively argued.

An introduction should suggest the points you will consider, whilst drawing something original and, somewhat ironically, conclusive out of them. Whilst avoiding repetition, your conclusion should enforce the assertion in the introduction, bringing your strands of argument together in a concise manner that leaves a reader without a doubt about what you are trying to state. Thus, the introduction and conclusion work in a manner of symmetry; your first few sentences may well be the inspiration of your last.
