How does one form the present subjunctive in French?

Les terminaisons du subjonctif - -e -es -e -ions -iez -ent 

Les verbes du premier groupe forment le subjonctif présent en ajoutant ces terminaisons au radical

Irreguliers - etre, avoir, boire, devoir, fair, pouvoir, prendre, savoir, venir

On utilise le subjonctif dans la preposition subordonée quand: les verbes qui ont valeur affective, verbes qui marquent obligation, verbes qui mettent en cause la réalité
