How do I form the subjunctive?

The subjunctive is used as a ‘mood’ to express a phrase or sentence which contains an element of doubt, or uncertainty, prompted by the use of the word QUE. In English, this may be “I expect something will happen”, translated to “je m’attends à ce QUE”. The subjunctive can also be used to express preferences and emotions, as these are also not containing certainty. The mood is formed by starting with the present tense ‘ils’ form of the verb, removing the ‘ent’ and adding the subjunctive ending: -e, -es, -e, -ions, -iez, -ent. An example for the nous form is AIMER —> aiment —> aim- —> aimions
