Describe how propenal, propanal and propanone can be distinguished from one another by simple chemical tests.

Propenal can be distinguished by adding bromine water, as it will go from a orange/brown solution to a colourless solution due to electrophilic addition. Propanal can be distingiushed from propanone by using Tollens reagent which will form a silver mirror. This leaves propanone.
