How do you conjugate the verbs Ser and Estar and when do you use them?

Ser and Estar are vital verbs for Spanish, so it is key to get them nailed and remember the conjugations. SER goes as SOY, ERES, ES, SOMOS, SOIS y SON. ESTAR is conjugated like this: ESTOY, ESTÁS, ESTÁ, ESTAMOS, ESTÁIS, ESTÁN. Now, there are two simple anagrams to use in order to remember the difference between Ser and Estar. For Ser, remember the word DOCTOR- Description (es alto), Occupation (soy futbolista), Characteristic (son divertidos), Time (son las dos), Origin (somos de Argentina), Relationship (Sofia es mi nova). For Estar remember the word PLACE. This stands for Position (el gato está debajo de la mesa), Location (estoy en Londres), Action (used with the gerund, estan jugando fútbol), Condition (está muerto), Emotion (estoy contento que lo has pasado bien).
