Why choose me for your GCSE English tutor?

I have had experience working specifically as an English Literature GCSE tutor (English Intervention teacher) within a UK secondary school; this role focused on the AQA exam board but I am also familiar with and have experience with OCR and Edexcel. Thanks to this role I am aware of the key issues and difficulties facing year 11 students in the run up to their exams and the ways in which these can be targeted. I have developed a number of successful strategies and techniques to overcome these difficulties; whether they be based in essay writing skills, grammar or comprehension.

I am also an extremely fun and approachable tutor; during my lessons I aim to provoke interest in the subject area, rather than simply encouraging the students to "jump through hoops". I believe a deepened interest in the areas studied ultimately increases the chances of success in an exam.

Finally, I am currently studying English Literature for the majority of my degree at Durham University. Because of this, I am still fully immersed in the education system and am able to identify with students struggling with the pressure of exams.
