What is the Futur Proche?

The Futur Proche, or the French Near Future Tense, is a construction used to express an action or event that will happen very soon.

The Futur Proche is formed by conjugating the verb 'aller' in the present tense plus the infinitive of the action verb.

For example: Dans dix minutes, je vais prendre le métro = In ten minutes, I'm going to get on the metro.
