How do I structure a History essay?

Firstly, you need to write a strong introduction. This should include your thesis statement along with a brief outline of the main points of your essay. Your introduction should be structured so as to indicate to the examiner what your conclusion will be- this shows that you've planned your essay.Next, you should aim for 3-4 paragraphs in the body of your essay. Each paragraph should start with a topic sentence and include a main point of your essay. Topic sentences ensure that your argument is focused and analytical because you are constantly reffering back to the essay question. In each paragraph you must PEE- make your Point and then Explain it by providing relevent Evidence. You should end each paragraph with a mini conclusion which should include a link to your next paragraph/point.Lastly, you need a conclusion. The conclusion should include a brief summary of the most important points you have made, making sure that points from both side of the argument are showcased. You should also include your opinion in your conclusion, this shouldn't come as a surprise to the exmainer as the introduction and body of the essay should make it clear what you deem to be the most important factors/arugument.
