How to "study" A-level Maths, not just learn?

To make you an A* student in Maths and Further Maths, the main technique is to sort everything by methods and knowledge. I spent 3 weekends catching up from knowing nothing to A* by my methods and I will never forget it, because I'm study it, not learn it.

How would you differentiate the term 3x^3-2x^2+x-10


Solve the inequality x < 4 - |2x + 1|.


Differentiate 2x^3+23x^2+3x+5 and find the values of x for which the function f(x) is at either at a maximum or minimum point. (Don't need to specify which is which)
