State one advantage and one disadvantage of using a CT scanner, compared with ultrasound scanning, for forming images of the inside of the human body. (2 Marks)

Advantage- Computeried Tomography provides an image with greater resolution than ultrasound. (1 mark) It also produces a 3D image made from lots of individual slices which can be viewed from various different angles.(1 mark)Disadvantage- Since CT scans use ionising X-Rays (1 mark) they increase the chance of cell mutations, and therefore cancer, in the patient.(1 mark)If you're not pressed for time at the end it's always a good idea to go back and add a second reason for each if you can. Here I have wrote two possible answers for each just to ensure getting the marks even though only one is required.
