How we’re improving school lessons

Our Schools Programme is something we’re really proud of here at MyTutor. For those who don’t know, many of the sessions are funded by the government grants like Pupil Premium or the National Tutoring Programme. The pupils who receive these grants tend to be from disadvantaged backgrounds, and likely wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford a tutor like you.

Because schools draw on very limited budget to pay for this tuition, it’s really important we offer them the best service possible to make the most of the opportunity. That’s why we’re always trying to improve the platform, and support our tutors to be as reliable as possible. Here’s how:

We’re helping you keep on top of tutorials ⏰

• We send you an email 10 minutes beforehand with a link to the lesson space

• We send you an SMS reminder before the lesson start time (so make sure your phone number’s accurate!)

• We’re currently testing out a calendar integration tool for school lessons

• We’ll reach out if we notice you miss a lesson or arrive late

We’re always trying to improve 🔧

• We’ve made our Product and Tech teams bigger, so we can fix more bugs, and introduce useful features (like our recent option to download your payment data for easy tax returns)!

• You now have 6 new Tutor Reps who you can make suggestions to here – that way we can understand which changes are most important to you

We understand things come up 👂

• So later this month we’re launching a way to make it even easier to request a cover tutor

• You also have the option to stop boosting or hide your profile if you’re not currently looking for work

• We’ve updated our Attendance Policy and Cancellation Policy to make things clear and easy to digest

• And if you disagree with our processes, we’re all ears – get in touch with us if you have feedback!

As always, if you have any questions or feedback, we’d love to hear from you. You can reach us on tutors@mytutor.co.uk or 0203 773 6024.
