How should I structure my essay?

A good structure is almost as important as the content of the essay itself, so make sure you have a clear argument in mind. Once you do, jot down the main points that support your argument in the form of a rough plan to clarify the order you will address them.

Each paragraph should introduce a new point or extend a point further. Use the opening line as a topic sentence that lets the reader know what the point your making is immediately. Once you have made your point, like it back to the question and explain how it agrees or disagrees with it.

Your conclusion is important, it is the last thing your examiner will read so you need to leave an impression. Sum up what you've said and explain its relevance to the question, avoid bringing in new material at this point however, as it can look like you had just forgotten to put it in the main body of your essay.
