How do I do this question: A small stone is projected vertically upwards from the point A with speed 11.2 m/s. Find the maximum height above A reached by the stone.

[Draw Diagram] We are given the inital velocity u=11.2m/s and we know the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8m/s^2. We need to find the distance 's'. When the stone is at its highest point the velocity will be v=0m/s. Using the equation v^2=u^2+2as we get 0=11.2^2-29.8s (make sure to get the minus sign for gravity) This comes to s=6.4m (show working on board)

Find the area contained under the curve y =3x^2 - x^3 between 0 and 3

Given f(x) = (x^4 - 1) / (x^4 + 1), use the quotient rule to show that f'(x) = nx^3 / (x^4 + 1)^2 where n is an integer to be determined.

How do you solve the integral of ln(x)

Sketch the curve y = (2x-1)/(x+1) stating the equations of any asymptotes and coordinates of the intersection with the axis. As an extension, what standard transformations from C1 could you use on y=1/x to get this curve?
