How should I structure an essay in an exam?

When writing an essay in an exam, try to ensure that your answer is focused, well structured and supported by evidence. To start with, it is a good idea to create a brief plan for your essay. This should include the evidence you wish to use in each paragraph, and your overall argument.

Now you can move on to writing the essay itself. This should be made up of three parts:

  1. Introduction: outline your argument and explain the structure of the essay.
  2. 3 Main Paragraphs: use examples to make your argument persuasive.
  3. Conclusion: summarise your essay.
