expand and simplify (x+7)(2x+4)

Using the F.O.I.L rule, standing for first, outside, inside, last, we would multiply out the relevant terms. to give: 2x^2+4x+14x+28. Once we have successfully multiplied out the brackets, we would identify what we call "like terms", theses x^2, x and number terms. After identifying the relevant "like terms", we would be able to simplify the equation to give 2x^2+18x+28.
