What factors influence the rate of a reaction?

There are four factors to consider.

  1. Tempearture

  2. Surface Area

  3. Concenration/ Pressure

  4. Catalyst

These factors all influence the rate of reaction. It is also important to understand how these factor influence the rate of reaction.

  1. An increase in temperature increases both the frequnecy of collsion as well as the energy of the collsion.

  2. An increase in surface area, increases the frequency of collision.

  3. An increase in concentration or pressure also increase the frequency of collsion.

  4. Lastly a catalyst increases the number of sucessful collision.
