Firstly, subtract 2x from both sides of the equation to obtain 3x+3=9. Then subtract 3 to achieve 3x=6. Finally, divide both sides by 3 to obtain the final answer of x=2. You can check your answer by substituting x=2 into the equation in the question to obtain 13=13.
