What are mitochondria and ribosomes and what are their function?

Mitochondria and ribosomes are both structures inside the animal cell. Mitochondria are the site of respiration. They supply energy to the cell by aerobic respiration. Ribosomes are strucutres where protein systhesis happens (where proteins are made). They are much smaller than mitochondria and can only be seen with an electron microscope.
