Why is it important to control body temperature?

Controlling body temperature is important due to multiple reasons. Firstly, it is important to maintain the temprature at which enzymes work optimally. Secondly, it allows for the chemical reactions in the body to happen at the fastest speed. Lastly, it will prevent damage to cells, an example of this being that if the body temprature is too high, the enzymes can denature.
