What are the differences between plant and animal cells?

Animal and plant cells have some characteristics in common, as when life first evolved on earth, we shared a common ancestor. This was a long time ago: 1.6 Billion years!!!
This is why we share the same genetic coding system (DNA) in plants and animals. Animal and plant cells contain these parts:
- Cell membrane - Cytoplasm - Nucleus - Mitochondria Plant cells have some extra parts to help them perform the process of photosynthesis: - Cell Wall - Vacuole - Chloroplasts The main differences are the presence of these plant-only organelles. Organelles refer to the many parts present in the cell that all work together for it to function.
